Chi-X Europe Selects Equinix as its Primary and Secondary Provider of Secure Co-location and Low-Latency Connectivity

Chi-X Europe is to use Equinix as its primary and secondary provider of secure co-location and low-latency connectivity. Equinix – a network-neutral datacentres and Internet exchange services provider – will host Chi-X Europe’s matching engine at its primary datacentre in London and secondary datacentre in Frankfurt, providing participants the option of proximity-hosting their servers at either location.

Turquoise Selects BT for Hosting, Low Latency Connectivity

Turquoise, the multilateral trading facility established by nine European investment banks, has chosen BT for secure hosting services and low latency connectivity. By working with BT, Turquoise will be able to offer its users fast, direct access to the trading platform and the option to co-locate their trading engines with BT to achieve near-zero trading latency, it says. Turquoise will be hosted in two of BT’s data centres in the London area. The data centres will be connected by BT’s low latency technology, enabling synchronous data transfer. Members of Turquoise will be able to access the trading facility via a choice of connectivity options including the Radianz Shared Market Infrastructure.

Interactive Data’s New European Ticker Plant Goes Live

Interactive Data Corporation’s new European ticker plant for its Real-Time Services business has gone live. The new ticker plant provides latency gains of at least 80 milliseconds, significantly reducing delivery times for European consumers of European real-time data distributed by PlusFeed, Interactive Data’s low latency, consolidated global datafeed. All European customers receiving PlusFeed will benefit from this enhancement, the vendor says. Interactive Data is also announcing the availability of a low latency co-location facility. Customers in Europe will have the option of co-locating their applications in data centres close to the new London-based ticker plant to take advantage of the low latency delivery of European data.

BT to Provide Low Latency Connectivity, Hosting for ISE

The International Securities Exchange (ISE) has selected BT to provide its customers with low latency connectivity and hosting for trade execution and market data. BT is opening access to its New York area hosting facility to the ISE, which gives ISE customers the option to co-locate their trading engines with BT to achieve near-zero trading latencies. Through a combination of Radianz Proximity Solution and a customised implementation of Radianz Ultra Access, BT is enabling market participants outside the New York metro area to enhance their advanced trading strategies and use one of the fastest connections to the ISE, it says.

Fixnetix Agrees Market Data, Trading Connectivity Deal with Chi-X Europe

Fixnetix, provider of ultra low latency market data, has signed an agreement with Chi-X Europe to deliver market data and trading connectivity. Fixnetix has connected to the Chi-X matching engine with a round trip latency as low as 400 microseconds, it says. Fixnetix can deliver data in multiple formats with sub-millisecond data transformation if required, and deliver these services on the wire for ease of integration. Whether co-located using Fixnetix’s Source hosting partners or connecting via the company’s Ethernet and Fibre networks, Fixnetix reckons it ensures financial institutions can directly access both Chi-X and any competing European exchange gateway utilising Fixnetix ultra low latency point to point network connectivity.

Australian ECN AXE Confirms BT as Hosting, Connectivity Provider

As first reported by Low-Latency.com’s sister portal AsiaMarketsIT.com last year (www.AsiaMarketsIT.com, June 1 2007), BT will provide the new Australian ECN AXE with connectivity and hosting through Radianz Proximity Solution, for electronic trading access and low latency market data distribution. Firms that trade on AXE will have the option to host their trading engines at a BT hosting facility to achieve the lowest execution time and avoid the natural latency that occurs when trading over distance. AXE joins nearly 50 execution venues that are already connected to the Radianz Shared Market Infrastructure.
