Connectivity provider Atrium Network has signed data vendor Activ Financial as the first client of its Exchange Ring service, which provides low latency access to European MTFs and exchanges.

Proprietary options trading firm Wolverine Trading has tapped OneMarketData for its OneTick Database to provide tick data management and analytics. OneTick collects and processes millions of ticks per second on a single CPU and archives billions of ticks per day globally, providing uniform access to all tick data, up to and including the latest tick.

Latency monitoring specialist Correlix has announced an OEM partnership with MicroStrategy to sell the vendor's Business Intelligence (BI) software as part of its Latency Intelligence suite. Version 1.9 will provide real-time monitoring and measurement capabilities to enable decision making based on latency dashboards and post day trade latency analytics. Traders will have access to historic and trend reporting, and the ability to analyse additional trading dimensions that are impacted by latency as well as investigate trends to optimise high frequency trading strategies.

Messaging appliance vendor Tervela has teamed with Volante Technologies to offer the Volante Designer for Tervela, a pre-integrated feature that combines Volante's data management tools with Tervela’s Open Data Framework. The combination is currently being tested by a major Wall Street investment firm, the company says.

IBM working with TD Securities has unveiled what it claims is a "revolutionary prototype of the world’s fastest automated options trading system." The prototype combines IBM’s InfoSphere Streams offering and its Blue Gene/P supercomputer, and was found to be capable of handling data at 21 times the speed of Options Price Reporting Authority (OPRA), the world’s single largest market data feed, while maintaining low end-to-end latencies.

Connectivity provider AboveNet has joined the Equinix Financial eXchange community in Equinix’s London-Slough (LD4) International Business Exchange (IBX) data centre. AboveNet will provide direct fibre links between Equinix’s LD4 and its London City (LD1) IBX centre, facilitating low latency access between the financial market participants operating in each of the centres, as well as other strategic partners and customers located in LD1.

XtremeData, which develops FPGA-based in-socket accelerators for high-performance computing and low latency applications, has joined the HP Accelerator Program, making its XD2000F accelerator available for the rack-mounted AMD microprocessor-based HP ProLiant DL165 and HP ProLiant DL185 servers.

Later today at the High Performance Linux on Wall Street conference in New York City, the Collaborative Software Initiative (CSI) will announce first products based on its Open Market Data (OMD) architecture, which was created to address the need for a standards-based solution for distributing financial services market data to trading applications. The products are an open set of feed handlers supporting the three highest volume exchange data sources: FAST OPRA V2, ArcaBook Multicast and ITCH 4.0.

Connectivity and network services provider Atrium Network added a point of presence at Equinix’s GV1 International Business Exchange (IBX) data centre in Geneva. The move will give financial services customers operating in Equinix’s GV1 centre with access to Atrium Network’s low latency connectivity capabilities, and gives Atrium Network a presence in Geneva.
