Market data and connectivity provider Fixnetix has launched iX-Risk Control, a low latency risk and limit management solution that offers a single sub-millisecond trading interface for multiple trading venues. iX-Risk Control provides real time risk management for both Prime Brokers looking to develop their high frequency trading base, as well as hedge funds and proprietary trading houses that need to trade under the sponsorship of Exchange members whilst minimising processing latency.

Pan European MTF Chi-X Europe has increased the capacity of it s core matching engine to handle 225,000 messages per second, with full redundancy. Chi-X Europe offers average internal latency of 350 microseconds and a co-location latency of 400 microseconds.

European agency brokerage Instinet Europe has implemented BT's Radianz Proximity hosting and extranet connectivity, in order to attain closer proximity to European exchanges and MTFs and access to a wide number of market participants via the Radianz Shared Market Infrastructure.

Capital Fund Management (CFM), the largest French private hedge fund, has tapped NYSE Technologies to provide market data distribution and integration software in its New York and Paris operations. The firm is using NYSE Technologies' Middleware Agnostic Messaging API (MAMA) to deliver data to its trading systems, which handle 100% of the firm’s order flow electronically.

Hardware-accelerated messsaging specialist Solace Systems has introduced the Solace 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10 GigE) Network Acceleration Blade for use within Solace Content Routers. This blade is targeted at high data rate/low latency applications.

Kx Systems is touting the performance boost it has attained for its Kdb+ database using Intel's new Xeon 5500 microprocessor. The multi-core, in-memory and on-disk database has been tested to run more than twice as fast on the Xeon 5500 in specific tests compared to the previous generation of processors. The benchmarking used a suite of sophisticated market models on databases containing hundreds of millions of records and included floating point and integer calculations.

Corvil has announced CorvilClear to enable inter-party latency transparency - "precise and unambiguous visibility" into latency performance across all parties participating in the trading loop. The offering has been developed based on user feedback, with the company citing Credit Suisse and Turquoise for their specific contributions. Turquoise is already providing CorvilClear latency transparency to its members.

European MTF Turquoise has chosen QuantHouse to provide it with real time data from across the European equity markets.

BT thas expanded its Radianz Ultra Access connectivity service to London, providing sub-one millisecond access to a number of market data and execution venues, including Turquoise, Chi-X Europe and BATS Europe.
