Solarflare's Latest Network Performance Test Report Affirms Fujitsu's Ultra-Low Latency Off-the-Shelf Speed for XG2600 10GbE Switch

Fujitsu Frontech North America (FFNA), a leading provider of IT-based business solutions, including advanced technology products, biometric security, and digital media solutions, and Solarflare, the company pioneering 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) solutions, today announced the availability of a recently completed switch to server latency and message rate network performance test report.

The test report affirms Fujitsu’s well established reputation for ultra-low latency performance, as well as the benefits gained when paired with Solarflare’s OpenOnload application acceleration middleware and the Solarflare SFN5122F server adapter. When combined with the Fujitsu XG2600 10GbE Switch, it yielded 4.5 microsecond mean latency over 10GbE in a TCP latency test with 64 byte packet size, typical of market data applications. The Fujitsu switch is one of the lowest latency switches on the market, demonstrating mean latency in this test of 427 nanoseconds. Solarflare’s server adapters and middleware facilitated discernable speed enhancements to the already fast Fujitsu switch, delivering tangible, measurable and reliable speed, which is a requirement for high-performance applications.

“Fujitsu is ecstatic about the results of the low latency testing just completed by Solarflare’s testing lab. It is fitting that the report arrives during our “Summer of Speed” XG2600 test drive, which is focused on helping customers discover these types of gains for themselves,” said Vic Herring, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Fujitsu Frontech North America. “We’ve known for some time that our switch, when combined with Solarflare’s adapters and middleware, nets significant gains in speed. This test report means not only that can you take our XG2600 and Solarflare products for a no-risk test drive, but you can also compare your results against the results in the Solarflare low latency test report.”

The Solarflare Low Latency Test Report is available for free, directly from Solarflare’s website as well as Fujitsu’s XG2600 “Summer of Speed” promotional webpage.

North American and European customers can download the Solarflare test report and get full “Summer of Speed” program details by visiting http://us.fujitsu.com/XGTestDrive, emailing XGTestDrive@us.fujitsu.com, or calling toll-free (866) 618-2781. They can also contact their authorized Fujitsu distributor or reseller to get started. The program runs from June 13, 2011 – September 30, 2011, is open to new customers and will be fulfilled through Fujitsu distribution partners and resellers.
