STAC Report: Teak Technologies AZ-10GE with RMDS

Securities Technology Analysis Center (STAC) has released its first test results involving 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GigE) technology. Teak Technologies provides 10GigE switches and NICs under the product name AZ-10GE. One of the distinguishing features that Teak claims is “Acceleration Zone Ethernet”, a hardware-based collection of algorithms that detect, diagnose and rectify networking artifacts that hinder application performance and prevent a firm from achieving the full potential of 10GigE.

ISE Depth of Market Feed Available Through PrecISE Trade

The International Securities Exchange’s (ISE’s) Depth of Market Feed for options is now available through PrecISE Trade, its proprietary front-end trading application. ISE’s Depth of Market Feed is a real-time data feed that provides the aggregated volume of all quotes and orders available at each of the top five price levels for options that trade on ISE. The Depth of Market Feed is delivered using the FIX FAST protocol.

Skyler Unveils Enterprise Class Global Liquidity Management

Skyler Technology, provider of ultra-low latency trading solutions for the capital markets, has launched the latest version of the Skyler C3 Liquidity Discovery Solution. Addressing the need for global liquidity management, the new version introduces a set of enterprise features and adds Europe-specific capabilities to the existing product, the vendor says. This is the first major enhancement to Skyler’s C3 product suite since the firm launched its offerings to address the data processing needs of US-based capital markets firms (Transaction Networks and Technologies, June 2006).

CodeStreet Adds Latency Monitoring, Auditing Tools to Market Data Works

CodeStreet, provider of market data development and operations tools, has introduced latency monitoring and auditing facilities to its flagship product Market Data Works (Market Data Insight, July 2007). Market Data Works now includes the following latency-specific functions: monitoring latency between points on the distribution infrastructure and from the exchange; auditing latency to review latency over periods in the past; sending alerts when latency limits are exceeded; and chart latency. The latency monitoring and auditing facilities are part of the Market Data Metrics component within Market Data Works.

Reuters Claims a First with High Speed Datafeed Connected to OMX Nordic Exchange Full Order Book

Reuters has launched a high-speed data feed that is directly connected to OMX Nordic Exchange’s full order book. Reuters Data Feed Direct allows professional investors and vendors to receive market data directly from the OMX trading system with the same low latency as members of the OMX Nordic Exchange. Reuters says it is the first vendor to offer this data feed, which provides market data for equity and related products. The data is derived from OMX’s low latency data feed based on Genium FIX that launched in November 2007. The new Reuters Data Feed Direct provides data to fuel algorithms, pricing engines and other latency sensitive applications.

Low Latency People: Progress Software Names Scott Grayson to Lead Global Sales of Apama within Capital Markets

Progress Software has appointed Scott Grayson managing director, global sales for Apama Capital Markets products. Prior to joining Progress Software, Grayson served as managing director and head of North American sales for Algorithmics where he ran the North American sales operations for the risk management software firm.
