FIF Capacity Statistics For February: Record Equity SIP Peaks in February; OPRA Peaks Down

This monthly bulletin from the Financial Information Forum provides highlights from the FIF Consolidated Capacity Report. The full report is available to FIF members and includes capacity statistics on market data feeds distributed by NYSE Arca, SIAC, Nasdaq, CME and Deutsche Börse.

* CQS hit a new one second peak of 42,460 messages per second (mps), up 7 percent from January.

* UQDF hits a five second peak of 14,671 messages per second (mps), up 18 percent from January. The bandwidth ceiling increase to 23,000 mps on February 19, 2008 from 14,200 mps was essential.

* NYSE Arcabook hit a one second peak of 155,609 messages per second (mps) at its busiest in February. This is 5 percent less than its all-time high reached in January.

* On the options side, data coming through the OPRA feed reached a one second peak of 408,867 messages per second (mps) down 6 percent from the all time high of 436,473 mps attained in January.

* NASDAQ TotalView (ITCH3.0) attained a five second peak of 61,539 down 15 percent compared to its record January peak.
