Kx Systems has released Version 2.4 of its Kdb+ low-latency database platform, extending multi-threading support for simultaneous users, enabling filtering of millions of messages per second. The new version doubles the application speeds for filtering and querying data streams such as market data feeds and supports realtime corrections on order book data as it is received and dynamic indices for nested data.

Progress Software’s Apama unit has launched Progress Apama FX Market Aggregation Accelerator, combining a set of foreign exchange (FX) integration adapters with pre-built Apama trading dashboards and foundation FX algorithms. The offering helps both sell- and buy-side traders develop and deploy high-frequency foreign exchange trading strategies that capitalise on proprietary trading techniques, integrating with major FX aggregators, Electronic Crossing Networks (ECNs) and direct bank connections.

Gissing Software has launched the latest version of multi-vendor contribution system, Gissing ConteX MCS 4.0, offering improved performance to reduce latency. Gissing ConteX MCS 4.0 also supports added functionality with the transaction transparency requirements of MiFID in mind, and Gissing Software has developed a set of MiFID output handlers which will allow users to contribute both pre and post-trade data to their choice of venues.

Developed at the request of several Tier 1 financial institutions, Activ Financial has integrated its direct and consolidated market data feeds with the Reuters Market Data System (RMDS). The Activ RMDS Gateway enables ACTIV to deliver low-latency market data directly into an institution’s existing RMDS infrastructure.

CEP vendor Skyler Technology is partnering with Reuters to make available Skyler’s aggregated Order Book Solution to Reuters Data Feed Direct customers. The integrated system is optimized to power algorithmic trading and smart order routing applications. The Skyler C3 Order Book can aggregate direct data feeds via RDF-D for all North American venues. It maintains the full depth of all order books in real time with a latency of only a few microseconds. In addition, the system supports multiple aggregation types and can drill down into individual price levels.

ABN Amro Capital Markets is using Vhayu Technologies‘ Velocity CEP software to provide real-time and historical VWAP calculations and trade volume profiles for its proprietary equities trading business. The implementation involves integration with Reuters RMDS and ABN Amro’s own order management system. The bank is also using Velocity’s tick capture engine capabilities to store tick data for access by a Mantas provided compliance system.
