Sybase, Streambase Link RAP and CEP

Sybase has integrated its Real-time Analytics Platform (RAP) with Streambase Systems‘ complex event processing (CEP) platform. The joint solution will support real-time applications having large storage requirements, such as back-testing for algorithmic trading, risk analysis, and historical trade auditing.

Streambase, Microsoft Partner on CEP Reference Architecture

Streambase Systems and Microsoft are launching a complex event processing architecture for algorithmic trading, focusing on the critical real-time sections of an algo trading system and its key presentation layer components. The architecture defines and end-to-end framework for algorithmic equities trading and describes the interconnection between its key real-time and user interaction components. The key real-time components are market data cleansing, data enrichment, trading strategies, risk management, execution strategies, and market impact/implementation shortfall processing. At the presentation layer, it leverages Microsoft’s Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)

TradingScreen Leverages Interactive’s DirectPlus

Trading platform vendor TradingScreen has integrated Interactive Data Corp.’s DirectPlus with its Tradesmart offering. DirectPlus provides access to sub-one millisecond data from a range of sources, such as NYSE Openbook (including “Best Quotes”), Nasdaq Level 1 and SingleBook, ArcaBook and Direct Edge ECN. By offering access to this ultra-low latency data directly within its platform, TradingScreen can help enable customers to more efficiently develop and execute their algorithmic trading strategies.

Aegis Athena Adds ICE iMpact Support

Aegis Software’s Athena execution management system has been certified to connect with The Intercontinental Exchange’s iMpact datafeed. iMpact provides faster connectivity to ICE pricing, and is seen as the replacement for ICE’s FIX interface to market data. STAC Opens NYC Facility; Hires Ortega

Benchmarking specialist Securities Technology Analysis Center (STAC) will open a New York facility in July 2007 to augment its existing Chicago area lab. The NYC facility will house a simulated trading environment where STAC and its customers can test innovative combinations of technologies—or technology “stacks.” The lab will include stacks for many areas of the trading process, including market data distribution, tick databasing, complex event processing, messaging, and order execution.
